OK guys just some info on the map making tools for cod 4, It looks like we will be able to convert cod two maps over.

those of you using vista DO NOT USE THE MOD TOOL EVEN IN XP MODE it managed to screw up nearly all my COD4 files including my backup(profile) files :oops:

so I have lost some of my rank, atleast I do not have to start from scratch again :grin:

...I now before you all tell me that it warns you before you download the files... but me being me wanted to give it a go anyway...arghhhh well never mind we live and learn :1:

You need an award for saving my COD4 installation, was gonna give it a go tonight, but after reading this, I backed up Activison folder before, went to run it and it did the same to me.

DO NOT USE WITH VISTA

No problem, first you will need to download the mod:

http://www.buybuildhost.com/cod4mw_modtools_v1.zip

This must be placed into your root directory:

C:\Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 4 - Modern warfare

Also you will need to download the patch to fix the errors:

http://patches.infinityward.com/modernw ... update.zip

Again put this in your root file as it overites the corrupt bin file.

now you will need to register with mods online before you can download the video tutorial on getting you started.

OK once you have looked around a little you can find most of the item prefabs in the folder named: misc_models This will give you all the items like cars, Vending machines, Petrol pumps, Buses, Tankers & also most of your Military vehicles.
For some of the Buildings you will find them in the folder: mp_Backlot.

to get the menu up for prefabs "right click any place on the grid and you will get this up.

Just open up the folder that contains the prefabs that you want, note not all of the folders contain any thing of use.
